About me
I’m a third-career Lead UX & Product Designer based in Los Angeles, with 12 years of UX experience solving design problems across web, mobile, and enterprise platforms. I bring 29 years of cross-disciplinary experience — from I.T. to architecture — which gives me a unique perspective on systems, structure, and user behavior.
Although my official titles have been Lead UX Designer, my role has often involved full product design responsibilities — shaping workflows, aligning across teams, and driving execution from concept to handoff.
Before UX, I worked for 6 years in I.T. and desktop support, developing troubleshooting skills, user empathy, and a strong appreciation for stability (and backups!).
My first career, which spanned 11 years, was in architecture — designing restaurants, museums, and luxury homes. It taught me how to think spatially, iterate effectively, and prioritize function over form.
Today, I use all of that to design thoughtful, useful digital tools. Outside of work, I live in a quiet LA neighborhood with my wife, cat, and a very opinionated dog.

His fundamental knowledge and curiosity of how things work – both as an architectural and UX designer – make him a real asset. Quito has effortlessly floated between experience and interaction design for our products on iOS, Android, Xbox, Roku and other platforms. No small feat. “It's rare that you come across standout talent like Quito. I had the pleasure of working closely with Quito for 15 months at Disney, collaborating on several interface design tasks for features within the My Disney Experience mobile app on iOS and Android. Among a long list of positive traits I've noticed while working with Quito, I was particularly impressed with his attention to details and organization skills, which in a face-paced environment, were extremely valuable qualities. As a product manager, I greatly appreciated Quito's willingness to tackle competing priorities in multiple projects and his expectations-management skills. Quito expertly filled in as the Interaction Design Lead and helped translate the product organization's vision into palpable mobile experiences that our users loved. Quito is an affable individual and a hardworking professional who would be a true asset to any team.”
“For a few months now, Quito and I have been working on an incredibly complicated project together at ADP. I was introduced to him by a UX Director who thought that some of the work that Quito was doing would be a great way to approach the current problem that I was working on. Once introduced, he explained his approach, how to do it, why it makes sense, how others can leverage it as well as how it can help team alignment. His processes, throughout the lifecycle of the project, helped to keep things organized, understandable, consistent and reusable for other teams. He contributed a TON of great ideas to help the project move forward throughout the various challenges. These abilities clearly show Quito’s skill, organization, talent and maturity of as a UXD. Working with him has helped me grow considerably as a UXD – and for that I am truly grateful. Thanks Quito for all your help, it was really awesome to work with you on that project and I hope we get to collaborate again soon.”
